Marine Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of marine engines and related equipment
  • Perform major engine overhauls, including dismantling, inspection, measurement, component replacement, reassembly, adjustment, and testing
  • Conduct engine performance testing, commissioning, dock trials, and sea trials following installations or major repairs
  • Use service manuals, technical specifications, special tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment accurately
  • Ensure all maintenance and repairs comply with manufacturer standards, company procedures, and safety requirements
  • Prepare job cards, service reports, inspection reports, commissioning reports, sea-trial reports, and warranty documentation
  • Coordinate with the Service Manager, Sales Team, dealers, and customers to ensure efficient completion of service activities
  • Attend field service requirements and emergency breakdowns at customer locations, boatyards, and fishing harbours
  • Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and after-sales service quality

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of practical experience in marine engine servicing, installation, troubleshooting, and major overhauling
  • Good knowledge of technical manuals, service procedures, specifications, and engineering drawings
  • Strong technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Good teamwork, coordination, and interpersonal skills
  • Responsible, disciplined, punctual, and committed to meeting agreed deadlines
  • Willingness to work at workshops, boatyards, fishing harbours, and customer locations, including overtime and field assignments when required
  • Ability to drive company/service vehicles and travel extensively for field service assignments
