MEDICAL OFFICERS - ICUs

REQUIREMENTS
- MBBS degree recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).
- SLMC registration and valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
- Completion of internship.
- Prior experience or interest in Intensive Care Medicine will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and handle emergencies efficiently.
- Good clinical knowledge, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Hospital Information System (HIS) will be an added advantage.
- Compassionate, dedicated, and a strong team player.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients admitted to the ICU.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions continuously and respond to changes promptly.
- Manage life-threatening emergencies and initiate appropriate treatment.
- Interpret investigations and monitor treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in the HIS.
- Communicate effectively with patients' relatives and provide updates.
- Ensure adherence to ICU protocols, infection control, and quality standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, case reviews, and continuous quality improvement activities.
