Assistant Manager - Finance & Accounting

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in finance operations or BPO environments
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a Shared Services environment.
  • Fully or partly qualified in Finance or Accounting, with a degree or professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, CMA, AAT, or CA.
  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP ERP, with in-depth knowledge of FI/CO and MM modules supporting AP, AR, and GL processes.
  • Proven expertise in SAP FI/CO workflows, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; experience with SAP reporting and analytics tools is preferred.
  • Exposure to automation initiatives, including RPA and workflow automation, is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, team leadership, coaching, decision-making, and people management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 8 - 10 finance associates handling SAP-based processes.
  • Allocate workload, monitor productivity, and ensure SLA/KPI adherence and oversee day-to-day delivery of finance processes.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and skill development sessions.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and competency building for new team members.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls, quality checks, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and automation opportunities.
  • Prepare and present performance dashboards, weekly/monthly business reviews, and compliance reports.
  • Identify risks, maintain process documentation (SOPs), and support audit requests.
  • Support migration, transition, or stabilization of new finance processes into SAP.
