Data Governance Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) No. 9 of 2022
- Manage data quality, privacy, retention, and lifecycle governance initiatives
- Conduct compliance reviews, DPIAs, and data governance assessments
- Administer access controls, user permissions, and security governance frameworks
- Support data breach management, audit activities, and regulatory compliance
- Conduct staff awareness and training programs on data privacy and governance
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Security, Business Information Systems, Law, or a related field
- 3–5 years' experience in Data Governance, Information Security, Compliance, Risk Management, or Data Privacy
- Strong knowledge of PDPA Sri Lanka, data governance frameworks, privacy principles, and access management controls
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance, Microsoft Entra ID, Dynamics 365, DLP tools, cloud security concepts, and enterprise applications
- Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
