Job Profile
- Monitor General Ledger reconciliations across the Bank and ensure adherence to approved reconciliation standards and timelines.
- Maintain the General Ledger Ownership Matrix, Reconciliation Inventory, and Reconciliation Exception Register.
- Review and monitor outstanding reconciliation items, aged balances, suspense accounts, settlement accounts, clearing accounts, control accounts, and inter-system reconciliations to ensure timely resolution.
- Escalate overdue reconciliations and significant reconciliation exceptions in line with established governance procedures.
- Support General Ledger account opening, maintenance, amendments, and closure processes.
- Prepare reconciliation reports, dashboards, and management information for Finance Management.
- Liaise with Branches, Business Units, Operations, Risk Management, Internal Audit, External Auditors, and Regulatory Authorities on reconciliation-related matters.
- Contribute to regulatory reporting, Annual Report preparations, system enhancements, UAT activities, and reconciliation automation initiatives.
Candidate Criteria
- Full or Part Qualification in CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is essential.
- Minimum 05 years of experience in Financial Control, Reconciliation Management, Financial Reporting, Audit, Banking Operations, or related areas within the Banking or Financial Services industry.
- Strong understanding of banking operations, accounting practices within the Banking sector, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of Core Banking Systems, banking products, accounting entries, General Ledger structures, and inter-system transaction processing.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
