Executive - Non Motor Underwriting

Operations Division/Non Motor Department

Job Role

  • Handling Non-Motor policy processing, including new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations and other policy-related transactions.
  • Reviewing underwriting information and ensuring policies are processed accurately and in accordance with approved underwriting guidelines and procedures.
  • Assess Non-Motor risk submissions and issue accurate, timely quotations within delegated authority, ensuring sound risk selection, correct pricing and compliance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Applying appropriate technical underwriting knowledge when reviewing policy terms, conditions, clauses, warranties, deductibles/excesses and other coverage requirements.
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of policy schedules, endorsements and related documentation prior to issuance.
  • Coordinating with Underwriters, Branches, Business Development teams and other relevant stakeholders to obtain required information and resolve policy-processing matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with established underwriting authority limits, internal controls, SLAs and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the identification and resolution of system, documentation and operational issues relating to Non-Motor underwriting.
  • Maintaining a high level of accuracy, productivity and service standards in all assigned underwriting activities.

Job Pre-Requisites

  • G.C.E. (A/L) with passes in relevant subjects.
  • 2-4 years' experience in the General Insurance industry, preferably in Non-Motor Insurance/Underwriting.
  • Sound knowledge of Non-Motor insurance classes, underwriting principles, policy terms, conditions, clauses, warranties, and deductibles.
  • Practical knowledge of quotations, policy processing, renewals, and endorsements will be an advantage.
  • Diploma/Higher Diploma in Insurance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • CII or equivalent professional insurance qualifications, or partial completion thereof, will be added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and meet required turnaround times.
