EXECUTIVE - RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
We are on the lookout for a dynamic and energetic individual to join our team at Trischel Fabric (Pty) Ltd as an Executive – Research & Development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding market trends and consumer perceptions, ensuring that products meet customer requirements through technical expertise and effective use of resources while maintaining high product standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate regularly with customers and sales teams to understand their requirements and make necessary product development changes.
- Conduct technical research on new trends/customer requirements to develop novel materials to align with upcoming requirements.
- Negotiate with suppliers and guide them through the development and bulk production processes to ensure timely delivery in line with customer requirements.
- Liaise with internal teams to incorporate customer specifications into fabric development.
- Coordinate with testing laboratories to ensure that product development requirements are adequately reflected in the final product.
- Proactively identify the technological requirements of new projects and growth platforms, supporting innovative approaches to overcome technical challenges and develop effective solutions.
Qualification and Experience:
- Ideal candidate would possess a Degree or Diploma in Textile Technology from a recognized institute with 1-2 years of experience in similar capacity,
- A Degree or Diploma in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institute, with 1–2 years of experience in a similar capacity.
- Knowledge of fabric development, textile testing, and product development processes would be an added advantage.
- Understanding of fabric properties, customer specifications, and quality standards within the textile industry.
- Ability to analyse market trends, identify new product development opportunities, and contribute to innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and technical knowledge.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, with good reporting and documentation skills.
