Chief Operating Officer (COO)
The AK Career Partners is seeking eligible and qualified applicants to serve as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in the Immigration Consultancy.
We're looking for a Chief Operating Officer to lead the day-to-day running of our business. This is a senior leadership role; you'll oversee all departments, manage the team, and take full ownership of operations. Within 6–12 months, you'll step into the primary leadership role as the company scales, with real authority and real responsibility from day one, with the possibility of being promoted to Managing Director based on performance.
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time.
Location: Batticaloa, Sri Lanka
The salary for this position will be: Decent salary and performance-based incentives.
Qualifications Required:
- Oversee daily operations across all departments - counselling, marketing, admissions, and client services
- Ensure client applications and immigration processes moves smoothly, accurately, and on time
- Manage staff performance, team structure, and hiring decisions for operational roles
- Handle day-to-day budgets and financial oversight across departments
- Build and maintain relationships with partner institutions, agencies, and agents
- Track application processing timelines and client satisfaction
- Oversee the Marketing Lead's reports and ensure alignment with overall business goals
- Deliver monthly performance reports with clear numbers and recommendations
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements
- Flag risks or opportunities early, with recommended action plans
- Set overall business vision, strategy, and direction for the company as it scales, in coordination with founding leadership
- Take on top-level relationship management with key partners, investors, or stakeholders as the role grows

- Comfortable working with performance data and building clear reports
- Strong communication and leadership skills - you'll manage staff and report directly to the founder
- Self-starter who can lead independently and make sound decisions under ownership
- Long-term growth mindset - someone looking to build a career with the company, not just fill a role
- Experience in immigration consultancy, education, or a related service industry is a plus
- Prior experience in a startup or early-stage company environment is an added advantage.
