HAMBANTOTA INTERNATIONAL PORT SERVICES COMPANY PRIVATE LIMITED (HIPS) is a joint venture company established as a Public Private Partnership between HIPS and SLPA to operate and manage the port services and common user facilities in the Hambantota International Port.
HIPS provides a wide range of marine services to vessels calling at Hambantota International Port including Navigational Services, Pilotage, Emergency Response and Security Services.
Senior Manager – Security
The role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive security strategies to safeguard port operations, assets, personnel, and stakeholders. This role will ensure compliance with ISPS Code, national regulations, and company security policies while maintaining close coordination with government authorities and law enforcement agencies.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be retired officers of the Sri Lanka Navy who held the rank of Captain or Commodore at the time of retirement.
- A Bachelor's degree in Defence Studies, Management or related field from a recognized university or institution.
- Previous proven experience in security management, preferably within the industries of port, shipping, military, or law enforcement sectors. Experience in maritime security, special security service or critical infrastructure protection will be considered as an added advantage.
- Strong Knowledge of ISPS Code, Maritime security practices, Latest security technologies, risk management, and compliance.
- Excellent team player, Proven leadership to inspire and drive processes to achieve company goals/objectives.
- Outgoing personality with excellent communication skills coupled with good PR skills with key stakeholders. (Ex: Internal departments, Government bodies and port related authorities.)
- Excellent communication & writing skills in English and master of Microsoft application packages like Excel & PowerPoint etc.
- Strong understanding of the 24/7 operational requirements of a port environment, with the flexibility and willingness to work extended hours and respond to emergencies as required.
