WE ARE HIRING — ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER
NORVI Controllers | Iconic Devices (Pvt) Ltd manufactures CE-certified industrial IoT controllers in Weligama for export to Europe and North America. We are looking for an Assistant Production Manager to run the daily execution of our electronics production floor.

- Location: Weligama (on-site)
- Working hours: 5 days a week - 8:30 am – 6:00 pm
- Experience: 2–4 years in manufacturing production supervision or management. Electronics assembly (SMT / THT) experience is a strong advantage.
- Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Run the daily production plan: assign work across assembly, soldering, milling, laser marking, and testing stations in strict production-queue order.
- Hold the daily morning briefing — targets for the day, quality flags from the previous day, and task handovers.
- Monitor work-in-progress through the production system (MES) and ensure every task is updated the same day it is done.
- Track the top priority batches daily against due dates and act on any batch that is not moving.
- Coordinate with the warehouse on material issue and with QA on testing so batches are never idle waiting for parts or test.
- Manage floor staffing: attendance, task allocation, overtime planning, and weekend work scheduling.
- Enforce floor standards: workstation cleanliness, tool ownership, ESD handling, safety footwear, and professional conduct.
- Record and investigate reworks, quality failures, and material losses; implement corrective actions with QA and Engineering.
- Submit the daily production report (output vs target, staffing, issues) and contribute to the weekly production report.
- Train and develop line staff and team leaders; identify skill gaps and arrange on-the-job training.
What We Look For
- Proven ability to run a production team to a daily plan and report against it.
- Comfortable working with production software / MES and reading work orders and BOMs.
- Firm but fair people management — able to hold standards consistently.
- Good written English for daily and weekly reporting.
