IMPORTS EXECUTIVE
MELS Automobiles is the automotive division of Melstacorp PLC and the officially appointed authorized importer and dealer for BMW vehicles in Sri Lanka. We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Import Executive to join our team.
Candidate Profile / Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in import operations, documentation, or freight forwarding.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
- Knowledge of import procedures, documentation, costing, exemptions and compliance.
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve operational targets.
- Experience with premium automotive brands will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end import activities from purchase order release to final delivery.
- Verify and process commercial invoices, bills of lading (BL) etc.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and clearing agents.
- Ensure adherence to local customs laws, tariffs, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate duty payments.
- Maintain accurate documentation and costing records.
- Monitor shipment timelines and manage multiple imports efficiently.
