EXECUTIVE - HULL UNDERWRITING

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assess insurance risks and prepare competitive quotations in line with underwriting guidelines and treaty limits.
  • Coordinate with the Reinsurance team to obtain facultative (FAC) quotations for risks exceeding treaty limits.
  • Negotiate reinsurance terms, premiums, and coverage to secure the best solutions for customers.
  • Review and amend quotations based on customer requirements while maintaining underwriting standards.
  • Prepare and issue policy documents, endorsements, and related documentation within agreed service standards.
  • Provide policy servicing throughout the policy lifecycle, including endorsements, renewals, premium adjustments, and refunds.
  • Manage policy renewals by issuing renewal notices and negotiating renewal terms where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate underwriting records, policy registers, and filing systems for efficient retrieval.
  • Support the Claims Department by providing guidance on policy terms and conditions applicable to claims.
  • Prepare and submit premium bordereaux and other underwriting reports within required timelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, brokers, and reinsurers to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Coach and guide junior team members to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Pre-requisites

  • Degree/Special Degree / Professional Qualification or Equivalent related to the functional area from a University/Institute approved by the UGC
  • 1-2 years experience in similar capacity
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Team player with leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Age should be below 35 years
