Quality Assurance & Quality Control Engineer (MEP)
We are a leading Electrical Engineering organization operating at the level of CIDA EM-1 and certified in ISO 9001:2015 QMS System, operating in Sri Lanka and Overseas.
We are looking for energetic and result-oriented individuals to join our team.
The role of QA/QC Engineer/Manager encompasses the leadership and management of all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities within complex infrastructure projects. This position demands technical expertise in MEP works, ensuring compliance with the Project Quality Plan and international standards while coordinating with various stakeholders. Strong leadership and a commitment to quality improvement are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc / BTech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification, Membership with IESL/ EISL.
- Minimum 4–5 years’ hands-on experience in QA/QC, preferably within MEP contracting, consultancy, construction, or building services projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical MEP systems, installation practices, inspection procedures, testing and commissioning.
- Good understanding of applicable IEC, BS, EDL/PUCSL and other relevant standards and project specifications.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, Checklists, MIRs, NCRs and QA/QC documentation.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, suppliers and project teams.
Key Duties & responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain QA/QC procedures and quality management systems for MEP projects.
- Prepare and review ITPs, Method Statements, Inspection Checklists and Quality Plans.
- Conduct inspections of electrical and MEP installations to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, standards and project requirements.
- Coordinate and witness inspection, testing and commissioning activities.
- Review material submittals, technical documents, test certificates and manufacturers’ documentation.
- Monitor workmanship and installation quality and identify deviations at an early stage.
- Raise, track and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain comprehensive QA/QC records, inspection reports, test reports and quality documentation.
