ASSISTANT LECTURER - IT & PROGRAMME COORDINATOR - DIPLOMA IN IT
DEPARTMENT: ACADEMIC / INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
REPORTS TO: HEAD OF ACADEMICS
JOB PURPOSE
To support the effective delivery and coordination of the Diploma in Information Technology programme through quality teaching, lecturer coordination, student support, and academic administration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- ACADEMIC DELIVERY Conduct IT lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions and provide academic guidance and support to students.
- LECTURER & MODULE COORDINATION Coordinate lecturers and module delivery to ensure classes are conducted according to the approved academic schedule.
- PROGRAMME COORDINATION Coordinate the overall Diploma in IT programme, including timetables, lecturer allocations, student activities, and academic schedules.
- ASSESSMENT & EXAMINATION COORDINATION Coordinate assignments, assessments, examinations, submissions, marking, and related academic records.
- STUDENT PROGRESS MONITORING Monitor student attendance, engagement, and academic progress and coordinate with the academic team to address programme-related matters.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain required academic and programme documentation.
- Communicate effectively with students, lecturers, and relevant departments.
- Participate in academic meetings, orientations, workshops, and institutional activities.
- Support the Head of Academics in programme-related activities.
- Perform other duties assigned by academic management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience.
