Manager Finance

The Manager - Finance will play a strategic role in driving financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across the Bank leading critical financial processes, deliver actionable management intelligence, and contribute to key transformation initiatives within the finance function.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end preparation and publication of the Bank’s Annual Report, interim financial statements, and mandatory regulatory filings for the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL)
  • Drive the delivery of high-precision Management Information System (MIS) reporting, including general ledger reconciliations, periodic performance insights, and SLFRS computations
  • Strengthen the Bank’s governance structure by enforcing robust internal controls, updating policy and process manuals and leading continuous process enhancements
  • Coordinate seamlessly with internal and external auditors to ensure prompt resolution of findings and maintain strong compliance standards
  • Actively partner in Core Banking initiatives and bank-wide IT/system implementation projects to optimize financial operations
  • Provide oversight on tax compliances and statutory tax planning in accordance with local legislation
  • Provide strategic direction and daily oversight to ensure the smooth, compliant, and efficient performance of the Finance Department

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full membership in a recognized professional accounting body (CA Sri Lanka / CIMA / ACCA & etc.)
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or auditing. Prior experience in the Banking / Financial Services sector or a reputed audit firm is highly advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLFRS/LKAS), CBSL frameworks, and hands-on audit experience
  • Strong technical capabilities, sharp analytical skills, high numerical literacy, and meticulous attention to detail
  • High computer literacy with advanced command of MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiar with core banking systems/ERP solutions
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, streamline workflows, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to stakeholder management
