Head of Sales & Operations – Automotive
A reputed global automotive company with operations in Sri Lanka
Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall sales and operational strategy to achieve revenue, profitability, market-share, and sustainable business growth.
- Drive performance across motorcycle/vehicle sales, showroom operations, dealer networks, distribution channels, and key customer segments.
- Develop and execute annual sales plans, budgets, forecasts, pricing strategies, and market-development initiatives.
- Monitor and improve key KPIs including sales volume, gross margins, conversion rates, inventory turnover, stock ageing, dealer performance, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure effective inventory planning and product availability, working closely with Supply Chain, Finance, and other internal teams.
- Strengthen relationships with dealers, distributors, corporate customers, fleet clients, principals, and strategic business partners.
- Identify opportunities for new markets, products, partnerships, dealer expansion, and revenue growth.
- Work closely with Marketing, Finance, After-Sales, Service, Spare Parts, and Supply Chain to deliver an integrated customer experience.
- Drive improvements in customer satisfaction, showroom standards, sales processes, service delivery, and operational productivity.
- Lead, coach, and develop sales and operations teams, setting clear targets and building a high-performance culture.
- Review market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and customer insights to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, Commerce, or a related discipline. MBA or postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
- 10+ years of experience in Sales and/or Operations, with significant experience in a senior leadership capacity.
- Previous experience in the motorcycle/bike or vehicle industry is mandatory.
- Strong exposure to automotive retail, dealer/showroom operations, vehicle sales, distribution, and inventory management.
- Experience managing multiple branches, showrooms, dealer networks, or regional sales operations would be highly advantageous.
- Proven track record in delivering sales growth, revenue, profitability, market-share, and operational KPIs.
- Strong commercial understanding of budgeting, forecasting, pricing, margin management, and performance analysis.
