Custom Denning Sri Lanka is the regional engineering and innovation hub of Custom Denning, Australia’s oldest bus manufacturer and a leader in zero-emission buses. We are building our Sri Lankan operations and looking for a young, ambitious professional who is ready to grow with us and build a long-term career.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Execute precise 2D drafting and 3D modelling for electric bus chassis, body panels, interior assemblies, and mechanical sub-systems exclusively using SolidWorks.
- Develop and manage complex assemblies, sub-assemblies, and large-scale design configurations with strict version control and configuration management.
- Apply advanced surfacing, sheet metal, and weldment techniques as required for structural, aesthetic, and functional components.
- FEA Support & Design Optimization.
- Engineering Change Management & Documentation.
- DFM/DFA, Prototyping & Validation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Remote Workflow Integration.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BEng/BSc in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, or heavy equipment design and development.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Drawing, PDM/EPDM), with demonstrated capability in sheet metal, weldments, and large-assembly management.
- Strong command of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawing standards.
- Experience with FEA/CFD workflow support (geometry preparation, simulation-driven design iteration) is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with ADR/ UNECE compliance frameworks, vehicle homologation processes, or Australian automotive regulatory standards is an added advantage.
- Excellent technical communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with proven ability to work effectively in remote/hybrid engineering environments.
- Solution-oriented mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to quality, safety, and continuous process improvement.
