Merchandiser – Sourcing & Production
Buddhi Batiks | Colombo, Sri Lanka
Are you experienced in sourcing, supplier management, and production coordination? Join Buddhi Batiks and play a key role in bringing our designs to life through effective sourcing, cost management, and quality-driven bulk production.
Key Responsibilities
- Source fabrics, trims, accessories, and other raw materials in line with design, quality, cost, and sustainability requirements.
- Identify, negotiate with, and manage suppliers to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery.
- Coordinate with design and production teams to ensure materials and orders are delivered on time.
- Oversee bulk production to ensure orders meet quality standards and production deadlines.
- Prepare cost sheets, monitor budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct quality checks and resolve material, production, and delivery issues.
- Monitor raw material and finished-goods inventory in coordination with the planning team.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, supplier agreements, production schedules, and deliveries.
- Provide regular updates on sourcing, costing, inventory, and production progress.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years experience in merchandising, sourcing, and production coordination.
- Strong supplier negotiation, costing, and budget management skills.
- Good understanding of materials, quality standards, and production processes.
- Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- An understanding of sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
- A positive attitude, ability to manage multiple orders and meet deadlines
