We are manufacturing synthetic fabrics and elastics for direct & indirect exports to our end customers in Europe and USA.
ASSISTANT MANAGER – EHS & COMPLIANCE
The role offers an excellent opportunity for a results-oriented professional to strengthen Environment & safety standards, drive compliance, minimize workplace risks, and build a strong culture of safety across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable Environment, health and safety regulations, standards, and organizational requirements.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Health & Safety policies, procedures, systems, and best practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments across the manufacturing facility.
- Lead the relevant customer audits and implement corrective & preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and other relevant industry standards.
- Monitor and enforce the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
- Lead fire safety, emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and emergency response drills.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions while ensuring zero major incidents.
- Ensure contractor safety compliance, including appropriate documentation, certifications, and equipment standards.
- Develop and monitor safety performance indicators and provide regular reports and recommendations to management.
- Drive safety awareness through training, communication, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Review, develop, and enhance SOPs, work permit systems, safety manuals, and risk control measures.
- Promote a proactive safety-first culture throughout the organization.
- Work closely with operational teams and management to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in workplace safety.
- Co-ordinate with relevant government institutions.
SKILL PROFILE
- BSc graduate in engineering / Science / any other relevant field with 03 - 05 years’ experience in same scope in a manufacturing /Industrial environment.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment will be highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
- Qualified auditor in ISO 45001 & 14001 will be added advantage.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
- Good communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
