Site Supervisor (Civil)
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Site Supervisor Intern to join our team. This internship will provide practical experience in site supervision, coordinating workers, monitoring daily activities, and supporting site operations, while developing valuable skills in supervision and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily steel building construction and structural steel installation activities.
- Coordinate steel erection teams, site workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, structural drawings, and specifications.
- Monitor the installation of steel columns, beams, trusses, purlins, and roofing sheets.
- Ensure proper alignment, levelling, bolting, and installation of steel structures according to approved drawings.
- Monitor site progress, workmanship, material usage, and project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, including working at heights and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to resolve site issues.
- Maintain daily site records and report progress, delays, and material requirements.
The ideal candidate should possess the following attributes:
- A qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Site Supervision, or an equivalent technical field (HNDE or NVQ 6).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant steel building construction site supervision experience.
- Practical experience in steel buildings, structural steel erection, or pre-engineered metal buildings (PEB) is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and understand structural drawings and construction plans.
- Good knowledge of steel erection methods, roofing installation, bolting, levelling, and alignment.
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices and quality control.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to read and interpret construction and structural drawings.
- Ability to manage site workers and complete assigned work within project deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
