PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Beverages and Ice Cream, is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC. Vacancies currently exist for the role of Production Assistant. The position will be based in Itteppana-Mathugama.
The selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Operate and monitor plant operations to achieve production, quality, safety, efficiency, and cost targets.
- Perform start-up, changeover, shutdown, and line clearance as per SOPs.
- Monitor efficiency, syrup yield, water yield, wastage, cost, and quality and take corrective actions.
- Troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and critical thinking for plant downtime, quality defects and wastage and corrective and preventive action.
- Plan and schedule PM & AM activities and minimize plant downtime.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, HSE, and housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Stores, and other departments.
- Initiate cost reduction, quality, efficiency, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required qualifications and skills:
- NVQ Level 4 or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Qualifications from NAB, ATI, TTI, German Technical College, or equivalent.
- Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting/root-cause analysis skills.
- Knowledge of OEE, efficiency, yield, wastage, and cost control.
- Experience in beverage, food, FMCG, manufacturing, or process industries is an advantage.
- Willing to work shift operations, including night shifts.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, discipline, and continuous improvement.
