Manager - Compliance
We are looking for a highly skilled and astute professional to be our next Manager - Compliance. As a key member of the management team, the Manager - Compliance will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with all regulatory & statutory requirements applicable to the company.
Job Responsibilities
- Compliance with all statutory reporting requirements with regard to Unit trust and Investment Management Operations
- Liaising with lawyers, Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) and the trustees for documentation and obtaining approval to license new unit trust funds, amendments to explanatory memorandum, trust deeds and renewal of investment manager license.
- Approving all Investment for unit trusts and private portfolios as per regulatory and internal guidelines
- Monitoring violations and communicating with the investment division to take appropriate remedial action
- Coordinating with auditors for timely execution of dividend and annual audits, as well as generation and dispatch of annual and interim reports to regulators and to the unit holders. Reviewing policies and processors in line with recommendations of compliance and regulatory audits
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive compliance manual for the Company and guide the CEO and the Board of Directors on related regulatory requirements and ensure the Company is aligned towards all regulatory requirements
Candidate Profile
- The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university with an equivalent professional qualification. A legal background and an MBA would be added advantages.
- Should possess a minimum of 5 years experience in the financial or banking industry at a managerial position with extensive knowledge in applicable statutory regulations, directions, rules and guidelines.
