Engineer - Machinery Maintenance -
- Location: Wathupitiwela
This role exists in the Export Oriented Food Processing plant which is operated 24 hours and on 365 days. They manufacture Value Added Food products, and their factories are equipped with UHT Sterilizers, Canning Line, Spray Dryers, Pasteurizers, Homogenizers and utility machinery such as Boilers, Air Compressors, Ice Bank chillers etc.
Key Job Functions;
- Ensure hands on approach in diagnosing/ troubleshooting and implement long term solutions.
- Troubleshooting on process machinery including - STERILIZERS, SPRAY DRYERS, PUMPS, LIQUID FILLERS etc.
- Diagnose causes for breakdowns and come up with possible solutions to sustain plant availability.
- Training/skill building of the team.
- Ensure execution of effective PMS to improve plant availability in order to achieve stringent production targets.
- Management of spare parts for the process machines.
- Optimize the plant availability.
- Plan, develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Exposure to equipment upgrading and commissioning.
The ideal candidate should have;
- A degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering from a recognized University.
- Minimum of 8 years' hands on work Experience as a Maintenance Engineer in Diary/Coconut Processing/Allied Industries.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate confidently and persuasively with a wide variety of people, up to senior levels.
