ABOUT THE JOB ROLE DESCRIPTION

  • Establish relationships with new customers and secure contracts with new customers that achieve assigned sales quotas and targets.
  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales.
  • Negotiating competitive rates with Suppliers; when vital with Air / Ocean Liners.
  • Provide forecasts on best case and most likely sales volumes over relevant time periods.
  • Give sales presentations, submit opportunities, and submit activity and results reports to leadership.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to meet or exceed sales targets with regular client follow-ups.
  • Develop and maintain functional knowledge of the products, services and operations offered by the company.
  • Support Customer Service and work closely with Operations and Documentation on the execution of customer service contracts and bookings.
  • Schedule and regularly communicate freight rates and related information to new and existing customer base.
  • Maintain a pre-determined number of target accounts and demonstrates active attention to those accounts and progress toward closing.
  • Meet or exceed sales threshold/quota as defined by the company.
  • Follow up with clients for outstanding supported by the Finance department.
  • Work cooperatively with other sales and operational staff to support a healthy working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in sales, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics, including at least (1) year experience closing sales at executive level or sales account management.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing customer base.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivator / Aggressive / Ambitious individual with Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Fluency in English and Sinhala are required with Strong communication and presentation skills.
