Human Resource Manager
Responsibilities
- Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
- Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations
- Develop training material and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities
- Create a compensation strategy for all employees based on market research and pay surveys; Keep the strategy up to date
- Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to the team
- Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently
- Maintain HR organization charts and employee directory
- Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives
- Maintain HR systems and procedures
- Conduct performance and salary reviews
- Provide support and guidance to staff
- Design and implement employee retention strategies
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business or related area; relevant work experience may be a substitute
- 2-5 years of experience in a HR managerial position, and experience in the hospitality sector will be an added advantage
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with the human resources information systems
- Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, safety, hiring and employee relations; ability to develop strategies and practices in compliance with employment regulations
- Ability to create a culture of inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork
- Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic employment planning
- Previous experience in hospitality industry would be an added advantage
HEAD OF MICE & WEDDINGS
The Candidate should have,
- Ability to develop and implement innovative strategies to attract and grow the MICE & Wedding business
- Ability to oversee the end-to-end planning and flawless execution of corporate events, conferences, and luxury weddings
- Skill to build strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and wedding organizers to drive sales and revenue
- Ability to collaborate with sales and marketing teams to position the hotel as a top destination for events
- Sound knowledge of MICE service standards, manage budgets, and maximize profitability
- Skills to ensure high service standards and personalized experiences for guests
- Updated knowledge of industry trends and competitive event solutions
Requirements
- Proven experience minimum of 5-7 years in MICE, weddings, or event management within the luxury hotel preferably in a 5-star hotel
- Leadership & relationship skills - ability to inspire teams, negotiate contracts, and drive business growth
- Strong network - established relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, and industry professionals
- Creativity & attention to detail - Ability to design and execute memorable events
- Financial Acumen - Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management
- Excellent communication - Fluency in English (Knowledge of Sinhala/Tamil is an advantage)
