SriLankan Catering Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of SriLankan Airlines Ltd. and a state-owned enterprise having its catering operations in Bandaranaike International Airport Colombo (BIA), Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) and Colombo International Airport Ratmalana (CIAR) is also engaged in operating Airport Restaurants, Transit hotels, Industrial Laundry, while being the catering arm of VIP and Presidential Lounges and Business Class lounges located at the above airports.

SriLankan Catering Limited is an active member of International Flight Catering Association (IFCA) and International In-flight Food Services Association (IFSA).

The Person We Are Looking For..

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated person of good character with professional qualifications, ethics and with outstanding communication skills for the post of Commis III. The successful candidate will report to Head of Production of the company & be responsible for tasks optimizing the productivity of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Preparation of all food items maintaining the highest hygiene and efficient standards.
  • Assists the chef in ensuring that food is prepared and served to the clients on time.
  • Maintain quality control of raw material.
  • Assists the kitchen staff in storing all food.
  • To remove any hazards and make safe any defects in the kitchen or its equipment and report any problems to a senior chef.
  • Maintain FIFO system within the division.
  • Any malfunctioning of all equipment and other machineries to be observed and reported to the Sous Chef / Executive Chef.
  • Preparation & portioning to be maintained as per the agreed standards & specifications.
  • Proper disposal of wastage.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 02 years or more experience in a Five Star Hotel / Cruise Line / Airline Catering Industry.
  • Full or Part Professional qualification in the relevant field.
  • 06 passes for G.C.E. (O/L) including English and Mathematics & G.C.E. (A/L) qualification.
  • Sound planning and organizing skills coupled with a methodical approach to work.
