Industrial Services Bureau (ISB) is a leading statutory organization established under the Provincial Council of the North Western Province. With over three decades of experience in various fields of development sector and serving a large number of leading development agencies in the country, ISB has earned a strong reputation as a prominent development agency in the country.
We are seeking qualified Sri Lankan citizens to apply for the position of Consultant - Sustainability and Resource Efficiency - to support various ongoing and future projects and assignments undertaken by ISB.
Job Profile
As a Consultant - Sustainability and Resource Efficiency, you will be responsible for implementing and managing project and assignments in industrial development, environmental sustainability, resource efficiency, and related areas. The role involves working closely with businesses, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Sustainability implementation: Lead RECP and other circular economy initiatives for SMEs and large enterprises.
- Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with ministries, government agencies, private sector, and international partners to drive sustainability efforts.
- Project development: Identify opportunities and develop project concepts and funding proposals for sustainability and resource efficiency initiatives.
- Technical assessments & training: Conduct sustainability assessments, guide businesses in adopting best practices, and deliver training sessions.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Track project progress, conduct follow-ups, and prepare reports for stakeholders.
- General Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with sustainability policies and support related ISB projects.
Education Qualifications and Experiences
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical), Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sustainability, resource efficiency, waste management, cleaner production, circular economy, or energy management.
- Experience working with stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector, and international development organizations, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, plastic waste management, or sustainable supply chains would be beneficial.
- Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills with the ability to develop project proposals and engage with diverse stakeholders.
General Requirements
- Work Location & Travel: The position will be based at the ISB office in Kurunegala, with extensive travel to the Western Province for project implementation and follow-up on various assignments conducted by ISB.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, Internet, and email communication is required.
- Language Skills: Strong command of English and Sinhala or Tamil, with excellent English writing skills to produce high-quality reports and documentation.
Salary and other conditions
- The salary for the Consultant - Sustainability and Resource Efficiency position will be offered based on your educational qualifications and experience, ensuring a competitive remuneration package in the industry.
- This position is on a fixed term assignment basis contract for a period of 1 year, with the possibility of extension based on the performance and requirement of various assignments handled by ISB. As part of our standard practice, you will undergo a 01 month probationary period to assess your fit within the organization.
- ISB will provide official transport for field visits if any.
