INTERN – Compliance & Occupational Safety

Location – Teejay Lanka PLC – Avissawella

Teejay Lanka is looking for a young energetic graduate trainee to join with compliance & safety team who will be responsible for facilitating compliance, health & safety guidelines. The main goal will be to ensure the safe work environment for all our members.

The Job

  • Assisting in the implementation and promotion of health and safety practices in line with country regulations and customer compliance requirements.
  • Preparing documentation for third-party compliance audits, system audits, and product compliance audits.
  • Maintaining a sound understanding of national safety and labor regulations.
  • Conducting awareness sessions and training programs for factory staff on safety and compliance-related topics.
  • Identifying workplace hazards, conducting risk assessments, and performing internal safety audits.

The Person

  • Final year undergraduate or graduate in Engineering, Science, Facilities Management, or Human Resources from a recognized university.
  • Preference will be given to candidates holding a professional qualification in Safety (NIOSH Diploma – Sri Lanka or NEBOSH IGC – UK).
  • An enthusiastic individual with a strong interest in learning industry-specific compliance and safety requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data analytical tools (such as Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential, along with strong data analysis skills.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage time well, and handle multiple responsibilities while being an excellent team player.
