Job Profile

  • Innovate new products, enhance existing ones, and lead product redesigns
  • Research the product provided by the marketing team, develop an understanding of its potential in the kitchen, and assess its feasibility to meet requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to product development teams on recipe formulation, ingredient interactions, baking conditions, to ensure product quality, consistency, and alignment with marketing team
  • Identify the capabilities of the current processes and machinery. If it is not functioning effectively, determine the type of supplier required to meet the necessary specifications
  • Address and solve problems related to recipe formulation, ingredient interactions, baking conditions and provide on time solutions
  • Assist with ongoing product improvements and solve issues on existing products
  • Provide expert knowledge to existing suppliers and enhance supplier capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain to develop new suppliers, ensuring alternative options are available if the current supplier cannot meet requirements

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 2 - 4 years of working experience in a food manufacturing, pastry, or baking-related industry
  • Proven experience in new product development within the food or baking industry
  • Having both bachelor’s degree in food science and diploma/experience in baking is highly advantageous.
  • Good communication skills in Sinhala & English
