MANAGER – WAREHOUSE BUTTALA

What is the role?
The Warehouse Manager oversees multiple warehouse locations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished dairy products in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Manage main warehouses and all distribution center locations across Pelwatte in line with company policies.
- Ensure proper maintenance of temperature-controlled warehouse facilities (chilled, frozen and ambient) as per the quality standards.
- Monitor and mitigate stock leakage by implementing strict control measures, conducting regular audits, and ensuring accountability in inventory handling.
- Plan and monitor raw material availability for production in coordination with procurement and planning teams.
- Conduct periodic (daily, monthly, and yearly) inventory counts, including but not limited to cycle counting and spot checks, to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize discrepancies.
- Liaise with transport companies, suppliers, and clients to ensure timely deliveries and dispatches.
- Manage staff scheduling and shift rotations to ensure optimal workforce allocation and uninterrupted warehouse operations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the procurement team, demand planners, quality control, sales, and production teams, to ensure smooth warehouse operations and material flow.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Management principles to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
What knowledge and skills are expected in an ideal candidate?
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CIPS, ISMM, CSCP, and CILT will be an added advantage.
- 7–10 years of experience in warehouse/logistics/supply chain roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory position.
- Experience in dairy or food manufacturing industry is a must.
- Proven track record in inventory control, stock rotation, and cold storage management.

This position is based at Buttala and company accommodation will be provided. Working days are from Monday to Friday, 7:30AM to 4:30PM and Saturday from 7:30AM to 12:30PM.
