Dara Switchboards (Pvt) Ltd is part of the global offshore operation of ABBA Renewables and ABBA Engineering in Australia. Our team in Sri Lanka work together with the Australian counterparts in delivering exceptional electrical solutions to the international market through the main operation and manufacturing facilities in Melbourne and Kalgoorlie. Working time will be 6:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday. You will be working in line with Victorian calendar and only the public holidays applicable in Victoria will be applicable for you.

Production Planner (Virtual)
Expected start date:
June 2025 or before
This role is responsible for production capacity planning and allocation of machine and workshop labour to each job.
Key responsibilities include:
- Schedule, coordinate operations personnel on job scheduler and rostering system and ensure that all the necessary inputs (such as material etc) have been considered and will be available.
- Develop and optimise Production Plans, estimating work scopes, identifying risks, parts/materials, equipment and determining resource needs.
- Ensure the needs of co-ordination of cross-functional activities are taken into consideration and are planned appropriately.
- Monitor job progress through various stages (cutting, folding, welding, grinding, powder coating, assembly, electrical fitting, copper work, power wiring, control wiring, testing, finishing, packing etc.) and adjust the schedule accordingly.
- Provide timely resolution of arising capacity issues and be the focal point on a day-to-day basis.
- Coordinate with production leading hands, supervisor and projects team in making changes to the schedule and work towards reducing delivery date impacts due to changes to the schedule.
- Collaborate with supervisor/managers to align work crew capabilities and assign jobs accordingly.
- Reschedule based on changes to original plan (based on changes to material receipts, customer changes, capacity issues, over runs etc)
- Provide production performance information and metrics to Operations Management.
- Provide feedback on workshop labour and material over runs compared to the estimated.
- Participate in production planning meetings.
- Identify potential scheduling conflicts or delays and propose proactive solutions.

Technical and soft skills
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft programs specially excel.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Project (will be an added advantage).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Confidence to speak with respective personal to get the best outcome.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to learn fast and tech savvy.
Qualifications/Competencies
- Certificate in Engineering trade or similar.
English language competencies
- Good in English speaking and writing.
Experience
- Experience in production planning or scheduling within the panel board manufacturing industry (preferred).
- Experience in working in the panel board industry (Electrical fitting, wiring etc).
- Ability to read and interpret technical and workshop switchboard drawings.
