Merchandiser - Procurement

The Sourcing & Procurement Merchandiser is responsible for optimizing raw material usage and coordinating the sourcing process, from enquiry to purchase order, for the designated raw material category or customer account within the Business Unit. This entails managing the entire procurement process, including PO to pay. Furthermore, the job holder is responsible for executing the vested duties and responsibilities in relation to the Health & Safety guidelines, instructions and protocols of the Organization.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for procurement of raw material, including pre-order confirmation, PO release and RM follow up
- Responsible for sourcing of raw material during the development stage as per the requirements of the Design & Development teams
- Ensure achievement of inventory and cost targets for the assigned category / customer account, through optimal ordering, reduction of write-offs and other costs
- Liaise with the suppliers and concerned internal stakeholders for achievement of sourcing & procurement objectives and supplier relationship management objectives
- Prepare MIS, documentation and reporting for functional procurement & sourcing activities, as per procedure
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Textile or Clothing technology or Materials management or any other relevant stream
- 0 to 3 years of experience in the procurement / merchandising function
