ASSISTANT MANAGER – TRANSPORT

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Coordinate daily transport operations and schedule logistics activities efficiently
  • Manage fleet maintenance, driver assignments, and ensure vehicle compliance with regulations
  • Liaise with General Manager - Operations to ensure accurate quantity and quality checks during collection
  • Monitor vehicle usage and ensure optimal allocation for deliveries
  • Ensure all vehicles are properly insured, registered, and compliant with local laws and regulations
  • Manage vehicle tracking and monitor for any unusual activity
  • Keep detailed records of each vehicle’s mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance history
  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained in accordance with safety and operational standards
  • Liaise effectively with internal departments, logistics partners, and customs authorities
  • Assist in budgeting for vehicle maintenance, repairs, and other transport-related expenses

CANDIDATES PROFILE :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional certifications such as CILT, Lean Six Sigma, CLT, CML, or PMP are an added advantage
  • 5-6 years of experience in fleet or transport management, preferably within the tea or FMCG industry
  • Strong understanding of transport regulations, fleet management systems, and export logistics
  • In-depth knowledge of safety standards and compliance requirements in transport operations
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills
