Executive Chef

Embark on an inspiring journey with Uga, where authentic luxury and heartfelt hospitality come together to create unforgettable experiences. We are currently seeking a passionate and dynamic Executive Chef to lead the culinary team at our luxury beachfront property, Uga Bay in Trincomalee.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for an individual with a strong commitment to excellence and high service standards. You will be responsible for curating exceptional dining experiences, driving culinary innovation, and maintaining the highest levels of quality and consistency. A deep passion for gastronomy, team development, and guest satisfaction is essential to thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all kitchen operations to ensure exceptional quality, hygiene, and consistency in food production.
  • Curate innovative and appealing menus that reflect the brand’s standards and resonate with our diverse clientele.
  • Monitor and manage kitchen budgets, food costing, and inventory control.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled culinary team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain impeccable kitchen standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance the overall guest experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum 05 years of proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a luxury resort or boutique hotel.
  • Qualification in Fine Culinary Arts from a recognized institute.
  • Extensive knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques and flavor profiles.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the highest quality in food preparation, plating, and presentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of costing, menu planning, and menu creation.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
