1 Executive - Compliance
Location - Kandy / Kurunegala
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the acquisition of internationally recognized certifications and ensure the factory is prepared for external audits. These include audits such as SMETA, WRAP, SLCP, GWG, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SA 8000, BSCI, Higg FEM, CTPAT, OCS, GOTS, GRS, and Regenerative.
- Lead and conduct internal audits across various areas including Labor Standards, Health & Safety, CTPAT, and QMS, ensuring that the factory meets and complies with social, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Perform audits at subcontract factories, such as washing plants, printing facilities & sub-production units ensuring consistent compliance with industry standards.
- Implement and communicate new vendor requirements to the factory management including policies related to Brand Protection, Chemical Handling, Safety Procedures, Supply Chain Security, and Mold Prevention.
- Manage and maintain all compliance-related documentation, such as risk assessments, chemical inventories, licenses, and manuals, ensuring thorough and up-to-date records.
Person Specifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent professional qualification in Compliance from a recognized university or professional institution.
- Minimum of 01-02 years of experience in the apparel sector, with a preferred relevant qualification.
- Strong knowledge of labor standards, International standards such as SMETA, WRAP, SLCP, and ISO management systems.
- Higg Index and product certifications such as OCS, GOTS, GRS, Oeko-Tex, Regenerative.
- An individual with leadership and negotiation capabilities.
2 Executive - Sustainability
Location - Kandy / Kurunegala
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and implement the company’s sustainability strategy, “Mihiliya”, focusing on ethical and environmentally safe production.
- Lead initiatives to guide the company toward carbon neutrality and net-zero emissions.
- Identify and eliminate resource-intensive processes to minimize environmental impact.
- Promote sustainability awareness within the organization and the wider community.
- Oversee sustainability projects and track progress through KPI reviews.
- Ensure compliance with UNGC, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 14064-1:2018 standards, while introducing innovative waste reduction practices.
Person Specifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science / Eco-Business Management / Energy or Engineering from a recognized university or professional institution.
- Minimum 01-02 years of similar work experience in apparel or any other manufacturing industry.
- Possess good communication skills in English, teamwork, and leadership competencies.
- Proven experience in energy management, energy savings, and GHG emission reduction projects will be an added advantage.
