Agriculture and Food Technology Expert
Key Responsibilities
- Manage PGS Secretariat operations and communications
- Coordinate PGS evaluations and field visits
- Provide guidance on organic farming practices
- Train farmers on Good Market standards and sustainability
- Maintain records and support PGS certification follow-up
- Community Food Lab and Product Development
- Oversee daily operations of the Community Food Lab
- Support food safety, testing, and product improvement
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Agriculture, Food Tech/Science (Master’s preferred)
- Experience in PGS, organic certification, or sustainable farming
- Knowledge of food labs, safety, and quality control
- Fieldwork with farmers or community producers
- Fluent in Sinhala and English (Tamil a plus)
- Strong facilitation, integrity, and stakeholder skills
- Aligned with Good Market values
