ASSISTANT MANAGER – DIGITAL FUND RAISING AND COMMUNICATIONS
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the online fundraising strategy for community engagement and income generation and will be hands on in the roll out, monitoring and evaluation of online fundraising campaigns. S/he will also be responsible for the communications strategy for the organization.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Content generation: pro-active finding, organizing, and managing news and information and turning this information into stories that are used for both online and offline external communications and fundraising.
- Writing stories driven by fundraising needs.
- Building and maintaining network of useful external contacts in countries and regions.
- Ensuring that the SOS Children’s Villages brand (incl. vision, mission, values etc.), relevant policies/guidelines of our organization (e.g., on protecting children’s privacy), are adhered to and providing counsel where necessary on brand communication and policy requirements.
- Develop and implement online marketing acquisition strategy including media planning, creative development, messaging, and monitoring of ad campaigns, search engine marketing and optimization, and email marketing.
- Develop and implement an email marketing program to include newsletters, planned appeals, and emergency response.
- Develop and monitor online marketing budget for effective ROI geared towards meeting the association’s acquisition goals.
- The role involves occasional travel to countries within the region as well as within Sri Lanka.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience of working in corporate/not for profit sector communications and digital fund raising.
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of not-for-profit sector digital marketing.
- Thorough knowledge of social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram).
- Ability to work within tight time lines and excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to travel extensively within the country and internationally as needed.
- Exceptional writing and speaking skills in English and Sinhalese. Tamil language would be an added advantage.
