The role
We are seeking a qualified Mold Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of molds used in our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on experience in mold maintenance (preferably in injection or blow molding), and the ability to ensure consistent quality and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and strategies for molds.
- Diagnose issues and identify areas for improving mold performance and efficiency.
- Respond promptly to mold breakdowns and initiate corrective actions.
- Conduct first-line diagnostics and coordinate repairs or component replacements as needed.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure molds meet safety and performance standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation (electronic or paper-based) for all maintenance activities.
- Monitor maintenance-related budgets and control associated costs.
- Conduct regular mold inspections and maintain detailed records to ensure optimal mold condition and longevity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
- Proven experience in mold maintenance, preferably within injection and blow molding manufacturing environments or the plastic sector.
- Strong technical proficiency relevant to mold maintenance.
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal), especially when liaising with technical teams and customers.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills; able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to perform efficiently and manage multiple tasks.
