DEPUTY MANAGER- MARKET RISK
The job holder is to ensure that the bank/subsidiaries operate within a defined risk appetite with regard to Market Risk / Liquidity Risk/ Credit & Operational risks related to Treasury activities/ monitor compliance and timely management reporting.
THE JOB
- Monitor Treasury Operations' Market Conduct & Practices in line with Act No.6 of 2019 - 29 August 2019.
- Monitor regulatory changes (BASEL / IFRS) applicable to risk and align risk assessment processes.
- Review/ Recommend improvement to policies, systems, processes and practices taking into account best practices, changes in local and international standards, changes in the business environment and changes in regulatory requirements while demand proactive action plans.
- To identify/ensure that early warning systems are active to detect breach of pre-set risk levels.
- Review Terms of Reference Documents / Procedure manuals/Documented processes for all Treasury related activities.
- Risk Mitigation through pro-active feedback on Treasury exposures.
- To conduct risk analysis of balance sheet and Report KRIs.
- Ensure effectiveness of Liquidity Contingency Funding Plan (LCFP) stress triggers/ Action steps & documenting results for management reporting.
- Provide Market data (exchange, interest) for EOD Balance Sheet revaluation.
- Dealer Stop loss limit monitoring - Intraday.
- To develop & update periodically, a robust methodology for conducting stress tests.
- Contribution towards Annual Report Risk write-up on Market & Liquidity risk & related disclosures shareholders/investors.
THE PERSON
- Be qualified in ACI Operations Certificate or Diploma in Treasury & Risk Management (IBSL) OR Certificate Programme in Foreign Exchange Operations (CBS).
- Diploma/Bachelor degree in Commerce, Finance, Banking or CIMA / CFA level 1 / FRM level 1 will be an add advantage.
- Possess at least 8 years of banking experience with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a TMO / TBO position in a LCB.
- Possess excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Attention to details.
- Possess strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Position is at Deputy Manager Level
