You should ideally

  • have a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, or any other recognized professional qualification
  • possess over two years of experience in investment banking, particularly in margin trading and custodian operations, with a total of five years of overall experience in the banking industry
  • be proficient in financial software, SQL, and Excel, with additional knowledge of Python or VBA considered a strong advantage
  • demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to excel in a fast-paced financial environment

You will be responsible for

  • managing end-to-end custodian operations, including settlement, safekeeping, and corporate actions, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations
  • overseeing margin lending activities, monitoring margin calls, and ensuring all margin trading operations comply with regulatory standards
  • ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements such as SEC and CBSL, preparing compliance reports, and supporting internal and external audits
  • collaborating with IT teams to optimize systems supporting margin trading and custodian operations, automate reporting processes, and improve overall efficiency
  • identifying and managing operational risks associated with margin trading and custodian functions, taking proactive steps to resolve any issues
  • working closely with trading desks, compliance, legal, and IT teams to maintain seamless and compliant operational workflows
