Overview of the role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager - Commercial to join our Commercial team. This role is essential in managing the full spectrum of import/export operations, logistics coordination, and vendor engagement to ensure timely and cost-efficient business operations.

Job Description

  • Oversee end-to-end import and export processes from order placement to final delivery.
  • Coordinate with banks for LCs, TTs, shipping guarantees, and other trade-related documentation.
  • Work closely with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and clearing agents to expedite deliveries and minimize costs such as demurrage.
  • Maintain systematic records of all import/export documentation for audits and management reporting.
  • Identify and onboard competitive vendors and freight forwarders to support cost-efficiency and service quality.
  • Negotiate freight rates and manage vendor relationships effectively.
  • Handle TIEP exports and cancellations while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely PO costing in SAP and monitor vendor payments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies for the execution of marketing materials, events, and promotional activities.
  • Generate analytical reports on shipment status, vendor performance, and compliance metrics to support strategic improvements.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong background in import/export operations and commercial logistics.
  • Excellent knowledge of customs processes, freight management, and trade compliance.
  • Familiarity with SAP and costing processes.
  • Strong coordination, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
