Overview of the role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager - Commercial to join our Commercial team. This role is essential in managing the full spectrum of import/export operations, logistics coordination, and vendor engagement to ensure timely and cost-efficient business operations.
Job Description
- Oversee end-to-end import and export processes from order placement to final delivery.
- Coordinate with banks for LCs, TTs, shipping guarantees, and other trade-related documentation.
- Work closely with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and clearing agents to expedite deliveries and minimize costs such as demurrage.
- Maintain systematic records of all import/export documentation for audits and management reporting.
- Identify and onboard competitive vendors and freight forwarders to support cost-efficiency and service quality.
- Negotiate freight rates and manage vendor relationships effectively.
- Handle TIEP exports and cancellations while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely PO costing in SAP and monitor vendor payments.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies for the execution of marketing materials, events, and promotional activities.
- Generate analytical reports on shipment status, vendor performance, and compliance metrics to support strategic improvements.
Candidate Profile
- Strong background in import/export operations and commercial logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of customs processes, freight management, and trade compliance.
- Familiarity with SAP and costing processes.
- Strong coordination, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
