Quantity Surveyor
Job Responsibilities
- Study and analyze client tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for design and build, EPC, or modular projects.
- Obtain and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and competitiveness.
- Develop unit rates for labor, materials, and equipment based on current market rates.
- Maintain a cost database for historical benchmarking and future references.
- Ensure compliance with industry-standard measurement methods (e.g., SMM7, CESMM, NRMM).
- Provide alternative material or construction solutions to optimize cost efficiency.
- Participate in design development meetings to align with budget and buildability.
- Highlight commercial and technical risks in tenders and propose mitigation strategies.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses for high-value packages or critical components.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, procurement, and design teams to ensure alignment.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit and post-tender review purposes.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.
- Professional qualifications or certification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., IQSSL, RICS, AIQS) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in a pre-contract or tendering role within the construction, modular construction, or engineering industry.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Strong knowledge of pre-contract and tendering processes.
