Quantity Surveyor

Job Responsibilities

  • Study and analyze client tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for design and build, EPC, or modular projects.
  • Obtain and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Develop unit rates for labor, materials, and equipment based on current market rates.
  • Maintain a cost database for historical benchmarking and future references.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-standard measurement methods (e.g., SMM7, CESMM, NRMM).
  • Provide alternative material or construction solutions to optimize cost efficiency.
  • Participate in design development meetings to align with budget and buildability.
  • Highlight commercial and technical risks in tenders and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct sensitivity analyses for high-value packages or critical components.
  • Collaborate with engineering, planning, procurement, and design teams to ensure alignment.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audit and post-tender review purposes.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Professional qualifications or certification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., IQSSL, RICS, AIQS) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience in a pre-contract or tendering role within the construction, modular construction, or engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of pre-contract and tendering processes.
