Order Management Team Leader - Shared Services

Location:

Colombo, Sri Lanka

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the OM Shared Services team in Colombo, ensuring daily operations are executed accurately and on time
  • Ensure that staff follow assigned schedules, attend work reliably, and perform tasks according to standard operating procedures
  • Monitor data entry and document handling activities to ensure service quality and consistency across the team
  • Plan team capacity ahead of time to accommodate workload fluctuations and ensure uninterrupted service to customers and origin offices
  • Act as a hands-on leader—ready to step into operational tasks when needed and able to train and guide team members effectively
  • Maintain process discipline, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to uphold service standards
  • Collaborate with regional and global OM managers to align shared service operations with customer and organizational expectations
  • Foster a positive team environment that values accountability, productivity, and continuous improvement
  • Assist with hiring, training, and onboarding of new team members
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance shared service delivery

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or documentation, with prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a team to meet operational goals
  • Hands-on, operationally focused mindset with attention to detail and execution
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written
  • Ability to manage team scheduling, anticipate capacity needs, and plan resources effectively
  • Strong understanding of standard procedures and quality assurance in service operations
  • Familiarity with logistics systems such as CargoWise or Infor Nexus, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
