Paint Lab Technician (Testing & Validation)
We are looking for a dedicated Paint Lab Technician to carry out detailed testing and validation of paints and coatings as per quality standards. This role supports product development, quality control, and process improvements.

JOB ROLE OVERVIEW:
- Paint Sample Preparation:
- a. Mix and prepare paint, hardener, and thinner as per specifications.
- b. Apply coatings using methods such as spraying, brushing, or dipping.
- Testing and Validation:
- a. Conduct tests to evaluate paint performance including:
- i. Adhesion/Hardness/Gloss/Thickness (DFT)/Curing/Drying time
- ii. Corrosion resistance (Salt spray, humidity)/Chemical resistance
- iii. UV/weathering durability
- a. Conduct tests to evaluate paint performance including:
- Data Recording & Reporting:
- a. Maintain detailed records of all test results.
- b. Generate reports and provide feedback to the R&D or production team.
- Equipment Handling & Calibration:
- a. Operate and maintain testing equipment (e.g., gloss meters, cross-hatch cutters, salt spray chambers).
- b. Calibrate equipment periodically.
- Compliance & Safety:
- a. Ensure all processes comply with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO).
- b. Follow proper safety and handling protocols for chemicals and materials.
- Continuous Improvement:
- a. Suggest improvements in paint formulation or application processes based on test results.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- • Diploma in Chemistry or related field.
- • Experience with industrial coatings or automotive paint is a plus.
- • Familiarity with quality control standards and paint testing methodologies.
- • Good analytical and documentation skills.
- • Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
