Field Officer- Forestry Management

Location: Kotagala

Agarapatana & Kotagala Plantations PLC, a leader in sustainable plantation practices, is looking for a Field Officer – Forestry Management to oversee and enhance our forestry operations across multiple estates. This is your opportunity to contribute to environmental conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable timber production within a progressive plantation company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead forest development initiatives: nursery management, planting, maintenance, and harvesting.
  • Implement best silviculture practices to optimize forest health and productivity.
  • Maintain and monitor timber stock inventories and assess environmental conditions.
  • Manage reforestation and afforestation projects in alignment with sustainable harvesting protocols.
  • Supervise field operations and contractors, ensuring strict compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Stay abreast of forestry regulations and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • Educational Qualification: Diploma in Forestry, Environmental Management, or equivalent;
  • OR
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in forestry operations.
  • Proven track record in forest resource management and operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and managing multiple field activities.
  • Computer literacy will be considered an added advantage.
