Payroll Manager

The Job Role

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing using the HSENID system, ensuring compliance with internal timelines and governance standards.
  • Ensure accurate and timely salary disbursements in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current with statutory obligations and manage all related payments, including EPF, ETF, PAYE, and other compliance-related contributions.
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies such as the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), handling audits, inquiries, and annual return submissions.
  • Generate and deliver payroll reports and reconciliations to Finance and HR as required.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure payroll data integrity and prevent discrepancies.
  • Lead, train, and support junior payroll staff, with a focus on maximizing the effective use of HSENID Payroll modules.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to optimize payroll efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and external auditors to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Prepare and submit all required payroll documentation for internal and external audits and compliance assessments.

Skills and Experienced Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll operations, including at least 2 years in a managerial or assistant managerial capacity.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience with HSENID Payroll system is mandatory.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Sri Lankan statutory payments and labor laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with regulatory authorities, including the Inland Revenue Department (IRD).
  • Strong analytical capabilities with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and lead team members while driving payroll process improvements and best practices.
