Commi Chef 1 - Indian Cuisine

We are in search for energetic individuals for our reputed client company (five star hotel) based in Colombo.

Requirements:

  • Assist senior chefs in preparing, cooking, and presenting traditional and contemporary Indian dishes.
  • Ensure all food preparation meets the hotel’s quality standards and recipes.
  • Follow food safety, HACCP, and sanitation guidelines strictly.
  • Assist with inventory control and stock rotation.
  • Properly store and label ingredients and supplies to avoid spoilage and wastage.
  • Support the team during high-volume service and contribute to kitchen efficiency.
  • Take the initiative in learning and improving culinary techniques under the guidance of senior chefs.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in Indian cuisine and a 5-star hotel environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and regional dishes.
  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and kitchen organization.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
