JUNIOR RETAIL BUYER
We are an International Company operating in a fast paced dynamic industry with offices across Asia Pacific. Currently we are looking for Junior Merchandising Executive (Retail Buyer) to join our team based in Sri Lanka. In this position, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing products from global vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers on behalf of the company. The key product categories we focus on are: Skincare, Cosmetics, Fragrances, Fashion, Electronics, Liquor and Tobacco and you will be assigned specific categories on a rotational basis.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE AND NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- Assisting in all buying activities.
- Working on developing or sourcing new products and brands while managing existing relationships with suppliers.
- Analyzing market trends to help create and implement strategies that drive sales growth.
- Reviewing bids received from suppliers to ensure they meet the company’s standards for quality and price.
- Coordinating with vendors to ensure that orders are delivered on time and within budget.
- Researching new suppliers to find competitive new products.
- Compiling reports on sales figures, inventory levels, and other business metrics for use in future planning.
- Following protocol for processing orders and invoices.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Excellent spoken and written English. (Mandatory)
- Strong interpersonal skills as you must be able to negotiate and collaborate with vendors at many different levels.
- Must be proficient in MS Excel.
- Diploma or Degree in Commerce/Business preferred.
- Should be Mathematically sound and have good ability to analyze data.
- The ideal candidate should be someone who is able to demonstrate the ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
