Open Position: IT MANAGER
Job Title: IT Manager
Department: IT Division
Reports To: General Manager or Asst. General Manager
Location: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
Remuneration: Basic Pay plus other fringe benefits (negotiable)
Term: Initial contract for 3 years with renewable option
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the hotel's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, servers, and telecommunications.
- Oversee system administration, software updates, and database performance.
- Ensure secure and reliable network connectivity (LAN/WLAN) across the property.
- Implement cybersecurity measures and ensure data privacy compliance.
- Support and maintain guest-facing systems like PMS and booking platforms.
- Provide technical support to staff and guests, including after-hours assistance.
- Train staff on the use of IT systems and tools.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate IT service contracts.
- Develop and monitor the IT budget and produce regular performance reports.
- Research and implement technology upgrades to improve operations and guest experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in IT management, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of networking, system administration, and IT security practices.
- Familiarity with hotel-specific systems such as property management systems and reservation platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and interact with guests.
- Project management skills to oversee technology implementations and upgrades.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP), or similar, are a plus.
