Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing the client's requirements clearly and accurately by proper inquiries through the marketing department in order to achieve a customer focused outcome and to minimize presumptions.
  • Preparation, monitoring, and management of project budgets and cost plans to ensure financial objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents and retrieve reports on work in progress at sites by liaising with parties such as Department Managers, Project managers and site engineers in order to ensure effectiveness of the contract.
  • Oversee the preparation of tender documents, bill of quantities (BOQ), and procurement strategies, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
  • Overlook the work progress measurements/draft IPA of project QS team and ensure the payment applications timely submitted thereby finalizing costing to be collected from client.
  • Liaise with parties such as Project managers and site engineers to certify the progress to be on track.
  • Administer contracts, including preparation, negotiation, and management of variations, claims, and dispute resolution processes.
  • Ensure all activities of the department are carried out with due consideration to safety by regular monitoring of work practices, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) in order to comply with the Company’s EHS policy.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of progressive experience in quantity surveying and commercial management.
  • Membership or part/associate membership with a recognized professional body, such as: (IQSSL/RICS)
  • Strong knowledge of standard forms of contracts (FIDIC, ICTAD/SBD, NEC, etc.)
  • Ability to stay at any site location and willingness to travel.
